Dress Code
The Collier County School Board has approved our Uniform Dress Code Policy. All students attending Herbert Cambridge Elementary are required to wear the prescribed uniform. Uniformed dress helps create an atmosphere of equal learning for all students.
SCHOOL ID:
- ID badges are required to be worn by students daily.
- One ID badge will be given at the beginning of the year to each student.

If misplaced or destroyed, parents are responsible to purchase a new ID badge.
TOPS
- Shirts must be a solid color polo style shirt with a collar.
- Shirts can have short or long sleeves.
- All colors are acceptable.
BOTTOMS
- Bottoms must be either slacks, capri pants, shorts, skorts, or uniform jumper/dress (shorts must be worn underneath).
- Khaki, black, or navy blue ONLY
- Shorts, skorts, and jumper/dress must be at fingertip length or longer.
- NO JEANS, sweatpants, yoga pants, or joggers.
SHOES
- Sneakers or tennis shoes with laces or Velcro must be worn at all times.
- Laces must be tied.

No flip flops, slip-on shoes, open back, open toe sandals, Crocs, Hey Dudes, or boots.
JACKETS / SWEATSHIRTS
- Jackets and sweatshirts do not need to be a solid color but must be school appropriate and follow CCPS code of conduct guidelines.
- Please write your child’s name on the inside/tags of their jackets or sweaters with permanent marker as they often end up in our lost and found.
Additional Dress Code Reminders
- Hair must be clean and well-groomed and must not obscure vision.
- Designs and unnatural hair colors that disrupt the learning environment are not permitted
- Artificial nails: Long, sharp, pointed nails (such as stiletto style) are not permitted, as they may cause injury during play or classroom activities.
- Any special days, such as jeans, special t-shirts, no uniform days, hats, or costumes, will be announced in advance with the Principal’s approval.
- Failure to follow dress code expectations may result in certain items no longer being permitted.
